INTRODUCTION
Pontoon will run as a background task and share the processor with any other program.
It can be run from either workbench (by double clicking upon its icon) or from the CLI
by typing "PONTOON" and pressing <RETURN>.
THE GAME
When the program has loaded, you will see the playing screen. There will be two cards
at the top of the screen (face down) and two cards at the bottom of the screen
(face down for the moment). The cards at the bottom of the screen are yours.
They will turn themselves over, so that you can see their value.
The object of the game is to make the value of your cards as near to 21, without
going over, or to get 5 cards with a value less than or equal to 21.
In the game the court cards (i.e. King, Queen, Jack) all have a value of 10.
The Ace can have the value 1 or 11, depending upon which is better for you.
PLAYING
To get another card, simply move the pointer over the 'hit me' gadget and press the
left mouse button. A card will appear face down, then turn itself over.
When your cards have reached a total as near to 21 as you think you can get,
then hit on the 'Stick' gadget. Control will go over to the computer.
The computer will turn over his cards and try to get nearer to 21 than you have.
The computer will win if he is nearer to 21 or he has the same hand value as you.
The game will finish immediately if a player get pontoon, on the initial deal
i.e. card value is 21.
If a player gets a five card trick he/she will win, unless the other player has the
same, or pontoon.
PLAYING AGAIN
When the game has ended, or if you do not like your hand (cheat) then click on the
'Play' gadget to restart.
